The Perfect Serve

Bartenders talk about the "perfect serve" - the ideal conditions to serve a drink and how it is best enjoyed. The perfect serve is slightly different for each of our meads. Here we break them down one by one and show how best to savour your drink.

Atlantic Dry Mead

Serve lightly chilled or over ice in a tumbler or stemless wine glass

Lovely with salty snacks such as olives, roasted nuts, seafood or raspberry and white chocolate sponge

Tasting Notes: A lovely floral, citrus aroma, a long lingering hint of honey and almost no sweetness. This light and refreshing honey drink is a great introduction to traditional style meads. Made from orange blossom honey, matured for a year to finish at 12% ABV, crisp and off dry.

Wild Red Mead

Lovely and smooth served at room temperature.

Delicious when paired with food such as rich, tomato-y Italian dishes, roast duck, sticky barbecue ribs or good quality chocolate

Tasting Notes: Whole Wexford blackcurrants and dark cherries fermented off-dry with forest honey and matured for 2 years. Packed full of flavour, it’s an intriguing alternative to full-bodied red wines, delivering on fruitiness with soft tannins, beautifully balanced with a wonderfully smooth finish.

Hazy Summer Mead

Delicious served slightly chilled or poured over frozen berries in a tumbler or sharing jug.

Lovely with spicy chicken wings, chorizo and fresh salads or berry pavlova or blue cheese.

Tasting Notes: Hazy Summer Mead is made from six ripe summer berries for a fabulous, fruity, off-dry berry mead with generous strawberry and raspberry aromas. A lovely burst of summer in a glass, blackberries, blackcurrants and cherries with a smooth, subtle honey and blueberry finish.
