Great Tour

This was such a great experience! Really interesting tour, loads of great stories of the history of mead. And the tasting afterwards was fab!

We were a small hen party and everyone loved the tour

What a Lovely Find

We drove to Kinsale with no plans and popped in on the off chance of getting a tour. They couldn’t have been more welcoming. We had a very informative tour and tasting. Clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. The product speaks for itself and is lovely.

Great gifts and a fun afternoon

Mead my day

A lovely way to spend an hour. The whole process is fascinating and well explained. They kindly took us for the tour outside the normal tour times. The tasting was really good, beautiful flavours.

I guarantee you’ll want to bring a few bottles home.

Simply Buzzing

The honey tasting was amazing, and the mead just as good. The facility looks so crisp and clean and the staff were such lovely people. The tour was interesting and informative, and it was lovely to visit the meadery.

Highly recommend.

Excellent Tour to match an excellent product

We really enjoyed this interesting and fun tour of this gorgeous company. Our tour guide was really lovely and passionate about the product from start to finish.

The tasting section was excellent and we got to try 4 different types of mead, all very different from each other.

The Bees Knees

Wonderful tour around the only meadery in Ireland. Kate our guide gave a humorous and fascinating talk on the myths and legends surrounding mead in Ireland and its place in world history, all illustrated by the most marvellous artwork. Tasting various types of honey and the mead it produced was intriguing, and seeing the amount of work involved in producing just one bottle was awesome.
It is no wonder this is the number one tour attraction in Kinsale. Bravo to Kate and Denis Dempsey who pioneered the venture. Long live mead!

A Definite Stop

My Dad loves mead so this was a definite stop on our tour of Ireland. As the only mead makers on the isle you could never go wrong. The owners were very nice and helpful in offering selections for purchase.

We had such a fun time learning about Mead and the history of it! We enjoyed the honey and mead tastings and even bought several bottles to take with us! We would recommend this experience to anyone that enjoys history, mead (or learning what it is), and tastings!

The mead making tour was super interesting and informative. We learned historical information about bees, mead and Ireland! Also, our perception about mead changed. During our tasting, we realized mead is light and not overly sweet. We look forward to pairing mead with certain meals!
