Mead Tasting Notes

Wild Red Mead

A refreshing melomel-style mead made from tart Wexford blackcurrants beautifully balanced with dark cherries, tempered with a hint of honey. Matured for 18 months in our tanks until silky smooth with soft tannins. 12% ABV and off-dry. An amazingly enticing drink with a beautiful, rich colour.

Serve at room temperature.

Beautiful paired with roast duck, sticky BBQ ribs, tomato pasta dishes, or good
quality chocolate.

Atlantic Dry Mead

A traditional mead, made from raw Spanish orange blossom honey, fermented and matured for a year to finish at 12% ABV and off dry.

A lovely floral, citrus aroma, a long lingering hint of honey. Take two tastes. On the first sip, you have the soft honey flavour. Then on the second, your palate has acclimatised and you can taste that although it is honeyed, it is crisp, floral and citrus, not a sweet drink.

Serve lightly chilled or over ice.

Lovely with salty food such as roasted nuts, seafood, olives or goats cheese.

Hazy Summer Mead

A refreshing melomel-style mead made from pure forest honey and muddled with a tumble of ripe summer berries. Strawberry and raspberry aromas up front. Juicy and refreshing, full of blackberries, blackcurrant, cherries with a subtle blueberry
and honey finish. A younger mead matured for 6 months to Off-dry, 11% ABV.

Enjoy on its own, over ice or in a sharing jug with frozen berries.

With its jammy, fruity flavours it can pair with spicy food such as chicken wings, bean burritos, any berry dessert, cheesecake, pavlova, or simply poured
over vanilla ice-cream!
