Kinsale Atlantic Dry Mead – Crisp Traditional Mead with a jar of West Cork Honey

Kinsale Atlantic Dry Mead (12% ABV) is a delicious, off-dry traditional style mead, beautifully crisp with a lovely citrus honey flavour. Best enjoyed lightly chilled or over ice as a pre-dinner drink.

It has lovely floral aromas and a long, lingering hint of honey with almost no sweetness; a perfect food pairing with salty appetisers such as olives, almonds or seafood bites. Or try pairing it with a lemon tart or buttermilk panna cotta.

This mead comes with a jar of Irish summer Wildflower honey from The Chanting Bee Apiary in West Cork, a lovely combination and a great gift. The honey is a lovely expression of the aromas and flavours of West Cork. It will transport you to our local countryside where honeybees roam and forage the hedgerows and blossoms, pollinating and collecting the nectar from hawthorn, wild clover and white blackberry blossom.

Kinsale Atlantic Dry Mead is refreshingly different and definitely intriguing, a great introduction to traditional style meads, re-imagined from its ancient form and fermented at our meadery in Kinsale with carefully sourced raw orange blossom honey from the verdant orange groves of southern Spain.

It certainly has the judges jumping off their chairs with numerous awards to date including the UK Great Taste Award 2 Star (outstanding), Silver Blas na hEireann (Irish Food Awards), Gold medal at International Mazer Cup and Gold at the Free From Food Awards.

And of course, since our meads are made with pure honey, they’re Naturally Gluten Free.

Customer Reviews

First class product. Atlantic Dry Mead I my particular favourite, aroma of blossom and taste of the flower through the honey (Mark E.)

Very seductive, subtle flavours of honey and citrus with a lovely clean finish, very enjoyable with firm cheeses – Comte, Cais na Tire. (John Wilson, Irish Times)

I can smell some fresh green olives and white flowers, in Italy we would call it “glicine.” There’s a underlying saltiness to the taste that’s very pleasant (Giovanni, Italy)
